Another 35 units of permanent supportive housing will soon be available from this motel formerly known as the Broadway Motel that was built in 1957. In partnership with Shangri-La Industries, it is currently being converted into units specifically for Veterans with Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing vouchers, which are provided to Veterans earning less than 30% of the average median income. As with many other sites, Step Up will provide the wraparound services and case management needed along with property management.
This extensive motel conversion includes structural and safety upgrades, ADA compliance, new roof, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other improvements including new kitchenettes and flooring. It is slated to open in 2022.
